About the Role

In this role, you'll partner closely with cross-functional teams, combining technical depth with a strong focus on user experience. You'll play a hands-on role in shaping the product roadmap-collaborating with Product to align on shared experiences and services across the broader portfolio.

You'll work alongside Engineering to design intuitive experiences that serve a range of user personas and experience levels. Leveraging product and user data, you'll drive continuous improvement through thoughtful planning and iteration.

Direct engagement with field teams and customers will be key to deepening product value and impact. As part of our digital organization, you'll also help mentor and learn from a team of experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and innovation.

We're looking for a UX design leader who:

  • Leads creative problem-solving across cross-functional teams, elevating thinking across the organization while aligning with broader business goals.
  • Proactively gathers, synthesizes, and applies insights from design research, competitive analysis, and data to inform strategic, full-featured product experiences.
  • Owns and drives complex programs of work, collaborating fluidly with product, engineering, and other cross-functional partners.

Required Qualifications and Skills

We're seeking a candidate with the following:

  • 10+ years of experience in product design or user experience
  • 5+ years leading design projects, with experience managing designers or teams
  • 3+ years of experience partnering with executive leadership on strategic initiatives
  • A Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, Fine Arts, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience
  • Deep appreciation for the full spectrum of design disciplines: interaction, visual, content, motion, and research
  • A proven track record of shipping products across platforms and geographies, and mentoring others through the process
  • High proficiency with tools like Figma, Miro, Usertesting.com, Dovetail, and other standard design and research platforms
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end thinking, critical problem-solving, and design craft across a range of work
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing
  • A self-starter with excellent time management, organizational skills, and obsessive attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Identified and set platform strategies, envisioned complex user interactions, and inspired teams to push the boundaries of what's possible.
  • Ability to showcase design thinking and high level of craft across platforms.
  • Preferred experience working in a financial services industry, especially consumer lending.

Location:

This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to one of our offices located in New York City, NY, Wilmington, DE, Baltimore, MD, Charlotte, NC, Fort Worth, TX or Irving, TX with expectations to be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Salary:

Target base salary range for Baltimore, MD and New York, NY is $140k - $160k, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
