Position Overview
We are hiring motivated TFL Operator Trainees to join our team in Talladega, AL. In this role, you will learn and support the operation of the TFL Press and associated production equipment. This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in industrial manufacturing, with growth potential into full operator positions.
The Operator Trainee is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient operation of the press line, performing basic maintenance tasks, and ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Production
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Operate, start up, and shut down equipment in the TFL area (with training).
- Monitor product quality and take corrective actions as needed.
- Perform routine inspections using provided checklists.
- Complete safety, quality, and production documentation.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify and resolve issues.
Maintenance
- Assist with installation and improvement of equipment and systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks as directed.
Other
- Read and follow work instructions, specifications, and safety procedures.
- Support continuous production and team goals.
- Carry out other duties assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience: Preferred 1–3 years in particle board production or industrial manufacturing (not required).
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Skills:
- Mechanical and operational aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Safe thinking and risk awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and assume responsibility.
- Basic computer/data entry skills.
- Language: English proficiency required.
