Job Description
The Angoon District Court of the Alaska Court System (ACS) is accepting applications for a part-time Clerk of Court to provide administrative assistance to the community and clerical support for the court's traveling Magistrate Judge. This position is scheduled to work 20 hours per week.
Regular job duties will include:
This position will greet and assist customers at the front counter and on the telephone; answer general questions, perform copy requests, and process marriage license applications; accept and receipt filing fees, fine payments, bail, restitution, and other fees; accept filings, perform notary public duties, and perform records searches.
Additionally, you will set up criminal, minor offense, civil, and small claims cases; receive complaints for civil and small claims cases and issue summons; prepare and issue writs of execution; prepare weekly bank deposits and reconciliation reports; serve as an in-court clerk as necessary and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- * Please note this position does not qualify for health insurance benefits nor does it participate in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). This position does contribute to the Supplemental Benefits System (SBS), accrues personal leave on a pro-rated basis, and receives up to 12 paid/prorated holidays. **
Hours for this position will be set in consultation with the successful applicant.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of general clerical, office or retail work experience.
OR
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college.
