Role Description
We are looking for a Specialist II Strategic Initiatives to join our team. In this role you will work as a business liaison to coordinate and lead the development of key content for multiple projects and create high-quality reports, and presentations that effectively communicate results and strategic insights to all levels of the organization.
- Oversee and coordinate multiple projects, ensuring organizational goal alignment and timely delivery of high-priority initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to gather and synthesize large amounts of information with a strategic lens.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including status reports, dashboards, and presentations to support informed decision-making and project results.
- Manage timelines and priorities to deliver results, often under tight deadlines and working with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Foster strong relationships and effectively collaborate with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams to develop and deliver strategic plans and drive results.
- Gather and interpret data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges.
- Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic initiatives by developing and maintaining reports to track initiative progress and outcomes.
- Address inquiries and ensure effective communication and information flow among all stakeholders.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information, requiring a strong ability to manage information with discretion and integrity.
Qualifications
- Related university degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field and seven (7) or more years of directly related experience OR equivalent combination of formal education, certification and experience.
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Exceptional written communication experience with the ability to convey complex information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Broad utility business knowledge and experience is a definite asset, especially Operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel, and development of presentations.
- Able to manage multiple priorities under constant deadline pressure.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
- Strong results-oriented and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders to influence an agreed/approved outcome.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience working in Operations or Engineering would be an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience in executive reporting, strategic analysis, or comparable type of work.
- Understanding of change management approaches and a successful track record of implementing internal change initiatives.
