Position: Sushi Chef
Wages: CAD$27.00-37.00 /hour (depending on experiences)
Types: Full-time, Permanent
Working hours: 30- 40 hours/week
Benefits: 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties:
- Plan and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi foods
- Prepare and cook Japanese sushi foods such as sushi, sashimi, chef’s sushi specials, and specialty foods
- Create new recipes
- Plan menus and ensure sushi food meets quality and safety standards
- Demonstrate and train staff with new sushi preparations/cooking techniques and equipment
- Supervise activities of cooks and staff
- Monitor and requisition food and supplies of sushi bar
- Arrange repair and purchase of equipment
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies
Job Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school;
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required.
- Cook certificate an asset.
