MASSAGE PRACTITIONER/ BODYWORKER
Position Summary: This opportunity is for a practitioner who is a healer at heart. Another requirement is flexibility with hours and having a personal practice. We are not operating on a full-time basis, and the number of guests fluctuates. We look for both permanent and casual practitioners. We have fewer requirements for casuals for a variety of therapies. Permanent practitioners must be multifaceted (i.e., can perform a wide variety of body treatments).

Hours: We operate on three weeks on/three weeks off basis. Work is available only during the retreat dates, but we may get quite busy during that time. Here is the program schedule: https://www.healthretreat.ca/health-retreat-dates/.
Appointments Hours: 1:30-9:00 p.m. (some days it may be 11:30-1 instead of the 7:30-9).
Work Load: We aim to book up to 4 90-min appointments per day. The number of appointments per day/ number of working days fluctuates and depends on the group size. It is a great supplementary income to your personal practice.
Pay: $60 per 60-min treatment. Most treatments are 90-min long. Sometimes you may also receive tips, but those are not guaranteed.
Terms: You need to provide organic massage oils and some other supplies (ex. salt scrub mixture).
Requirements:
Min 3-5 years of experience in various bodywork and healing modalities. Techniques may vary
Minimum requirement: the ability to do both deep tissue and relaxation massages (though if you can do only one of those, please feel free to apply also)
Would be an asset: body treatments (scrubs/ wraps, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy), reflexology, herbal stem massage, hot stone massage or other modalities. Alternatively, you may be specializing in structural work and pain management. That specialty is also highly appreciated.
Current liability insurance
Your schedule is quite flexible: you can work around our dates and are ok with a fluctuating number of appointments.
Able to easily carry the load 4-5 full days per week (for temporal or casual help this is not a mandatory requirement)

Fresh Start is a natural health retreat that specializes in health restoration in the areas of physical health, emotional wellness and quit smoking programs. The company, founded in 2005, is the only centre of this nature in Canada. The guests stay with us for 7, 14 and 21 days and undergo a structured program, including healthy nutrition, exercise, meditation, health education and multiple types of bodywork. You do not need to wait for bookings - you only come out when something is booked
If you offer outstanding service, you get tips (amounts vary)
